Brown satin blouse with cuffs perfect for both formal and informal wear. We named this piece LASGIDI which is another name for the city of Lagos, Nigeria. LASGIDI reminds us of the hustle and bustle of Lagos, constantly trying to maintain a work life balance. We imagine wearing it for a work meeting and rushing from that formal meeting to an evening cocktails plan with friends, having no time to beat the traffic home and change. LASGIDI is part of our MAHALI collection, a collection that is dedicated to celebrating some of our founder’s favorite places in Africa. MAHALI means “Places” in Swahili.
Short, fitted, V-neck black velvet dress. The velvet fabric is a thick, non-stretch suiting fabric. The design of this dress features gorgeous gold buttons placed in a similar manner to a double-breasted blazer/coat. We love the funky and edgy design which is very similar to the styles of a lot of Nairobian ladies. We named this dress NAIROBAE which is a term used by Kenyans to refer to the capital city Nairobi. NAIROBAE reminds us of the vibrant night life in Nairobi. NAIROBAE is part of our MAHALI collection, a collection that is dedicated to celebrating some of our founder’s favorite places in Africa. MAHALI means “Places” in Swahili.
This satin dressing gown is named "Ayana" which means "Beautiful Blossom" in Swahili
This robe is made of satin with some cotton ankara print fabric on the sleeves and neckline.
This satin dressing gown is named “Jokia” which means “Beautiful Robe”
This robe is made of satin with some thick cotton animal print on the sleeves and neckline.
NIA is a Swahili word that means “Purpose” . This piece is unisex and multipurpose. You’ll want to spend your whole entire life in it. It has pockets which are useful in keeping your hands warm. It can be worn both indoors and outdoors, as a sweater dress or a normal sweater with bottoms. We love the versatility it provides. It’s made of fleece fabric for extra warmth and comfort. The extra touch of kanga print on the collar line, hemline and cuff make this piece really unique and special.
JABER knee length dress. We named this dress JABER which is a Dholuo word that refers to a person with immense beauty and exceptional physical qualities. Dholuo/Luo is a Kenyan language and tribe. The fabric used for this dress is a stretchy rich purple fabric and we absolutely love how it draped down to form this beautiful piece which our model wore with so much grace.
