The handbag gets its name Mahlaseli (sunrays) from beautiful deco on the bag displaying the sun rays. They represent the powerful, nurturing and motherly character of the African women giving strength and warmth to her young ones. Its lining is the shweshwe fabric, a special type of cloth gifted to the founder of the Lesotho nation, King Moshoeshoe I, in 1840 by French Missionaries.
The bag is handcrafted using the finest leather, which is a by-product of the food industry. The special production process of mahlaseli means that each bag has a distinctive, individual color and its own story with unique distinctions of leather. The final product is a collaboration of local artisans who use recycled brass, those who utilize specialized leather finishing techniques, and women and youth co-creating our products.
Its dimension are L10, D5, W16, inches. The exterior is made with high quality, sturdy and durable pull-up leather, while the interior has a strong, durable yet soft cotton lining. Its fastening is of high quality and heavy duty YKK zippers. It comes in tan, dark brown, chest but and black.
